Section Two Distinctive students; faculty of Arts

Faculty of Arts, Dept. of English 3rd year:

The Second practical section was on Monday, 10/12/2009 when I shed light on the objectives of the course of linguistics this year, put the general guidelines of the practical part in the English laboratory, explained an introductory part on linguistics and its branches, gave the chance for the students to listen to about 25 to 30 minutes English material; in section one (8-11 a.m.) students participated in answering some quizzes on syntax. I do thank students 1) Al-shaymaa' Ahmed AbuGhadir, 2)Doaa' Hamdy and 3)Alaa' Mohammad Hany for their good level.(Well done!)

As for section two (11 a.m.-1:15 p.m.) five students had been selected to deliver presentations in English based on subjects from their own choice. Only Hebatulla Abdul Majeed could draw all our attention with her wonderful speech that continued for 6 minutes and 33 seconds. She is still the girl of the class for the second week respectively. From all our hearts we say to her: Bravo Heba!!!

Heba's presentation was estimated on the basis of the following parameters:

a) perfect sentence structure, b) good pronunciation, sentence stress and intonation, c) self-confidence, d) arrangment of ideas, e) the use of body language and facial expressions.

OTHER 10 students were selected randomly for presentation skills for the next section 10/20/2009. I hope that there will be better English speakers.
